The Canadian Pacific Women’s Open was held at Vancouver Golf Club in Coquitlam, BC. Before the Tournament officially began, some of Burnaby’s Golf Students had the chance of a lifetime - to caddy for them and play in the Pro Am! Here are the highlights.

Golf Burnaby student, Sophie Fuerbringer, had luck on her side on Wednesday. She was paired with Brooke Henderson during the Pro Am and got some very helpful tips from the Canadian Golfer.
“Pretty brilliant for a mom to be taking a photo of her girl at the tee and superstar Brooke Henderson catches you and gives you the thumbs up. Brooke was talented and delightful, nice to see good character on and off the course.” ~Mrs. Fuerbringer~
Brooke Henderson was the low Canadian in the field, shooting a -5 (67) on Sunday. She finished the tournament at -4 tied for 23rd.

Golf Burnaby student, Tanner McClure, was paired with Amy Yang. “Amy was very nice to me, she even helped me line up my putts. She talked to me about golf and really made me want to play my best.” Commented Tanner. Amy Yang is 5th in earnings so far for the 2015 LPGA season.

Tanner’s older brother, Brandon McClure was paired with LPGA Tour player, Sandra Gal. “She is so good! Every shot was exciting to watch.” Commented Brandon

Christina Park (Golf Burnaby student) was paired with Kim Kaufman. Christina was very enthusiastic and even carried Kim’s Golf Bag for her while caddying.

Golf Burnaby student, Victoria Wu was paired with Langley native, Sue Kim. Canada is cheering for you Sue Kim!

Salimah Mussani, Golf Burnaby teaching professional, pictured here with 2014 Women’s British Open Champion, Mo Martin.
Salimah and Mo competed against each other in college (Pac 10). Salimah Mussani, represented Stanford and Mo Martin represented UCLA. A friendship was born and they became travelling companions on the LPGA Futures Tour.
While travelling together the 2 of them would take on the Men in match play. 2, five foot nothing ladies would beat up on the Men. “They never saw us coming. Mo and I made a lot of money off the Men together back in those days” ~Salimah Mussani~
