With his easy-going manner, his sense of humour and his exceptional golfing skills, Alex is a terrific instructor whether you’re new to the game or a regular player. We asked him how he shares his passion for golf with his students and what he does on his off time.
Why are you passionate about playing golf?
Golf is a sport that allows for a different experience each time I play. It presents me with new challenges every step of the way. One given golf course is open to nearly infinite amounts of variables depending on the weather and conditions of the day. Golf is very fascinating to me since it does not have one correct answer.
Why do you love teaching golf?
A single round of golf can last up to four hours of gameplay, which is very exhausting at times. It requires stamina and diligence of not only the body but the mind as well. A good coach should share their expertise on the technique as well as the mindset going into the sport. Personally, I love sharing my love for the game with others that are equally passionate.
Are there any aspects of golf that are your specialty?
I am very confident in my ability to play consistently, especially in my short game and putting. I try to share these areas of golf with my students during class.
What do you enjoy doing outside of golf?
I really love doing outdoor activities! During summertime, I love going snorkeling and wakeboarding. In the winter, you can often find me skiing and snowshoeing in the wilderness.
